TRANSITION

  • When God wanted something, He didn’t wait for anything to change, He got it instantaneously.
  • If you received a promise or word that something was going to occur and a long period of time has gone by and there has not been manifestation, at some point you will come to one of two possible conclusions. Those conclusions will hit at about the same time and that is when you get fed up.
  1. The thing that I was promised is not likely to occur.Too much time has passed, maybe I misheard, maybe that promise was not really for me.Hope deferred has made the heart sick.
  2. The promise that I’ve been promised is about to happen tomorrow. When you decide your season of waiting is over and you're going to enter to season of receiving, you qualify that as being your tomorrow.
  • 2 Kings 6 – famine in the land; no food; people were desperate and began to do desperate things.
  • 2 Kings 7:1 Elisha came along and made a declaration. He was fed up and declared that “tomorrow at about this time, there is going to be plenty and it is going to be affordable.”
  • He prophesied to his tomorrow and said in 24 hours, thing are going to change. He got tired of how things were and made a declaration. Have you made a declaration that things are going to change?
  • Ecclesiastes 3:1 – to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
  • A season is a special period of time accompanied by purpose, power and provision or a lack thereof.
  • The purpose of the season of abundance is to prepare for the season of scarcity.
  • Your ability to understand and master transition is the key to mastering this human experience.
  • Your inability to understand and master transition is a prescription for stagnation.
Four Definitions for Transition
1. When one season of your life abruptly ends and you’re forced to enter a new season
2. Those seemingly insecure and unpredictable times in your life when you’re not sure where you're going or what’s next.
3. When God disqualifies you from your present in favor of your future.
4. When God forces you off the shores of Egypt into the Red Sea, headed for your promised land [Egypt means limit] so God is forcing you out of limit, slavery, bondage.
  • You may feel like you’re going to drown, but you won’t.The water is washing away the things that cannot go into Canine with you.
  • God doesn’t really have to kick you out of limit. When you become a student of unlimited, limit will kick you out of it.
  • Transition is triggered by sudden change. When sudden change occurs, you must change.Whoever changes first becomes the leader. Either you or the circumstance.
  • SUDDENLY things are going to change. He is the God of suddenly.
  • Crisis always happens at the turn of transition. Crisis is disorder, but disorder is necessary for new order.
  • Transition is not the proof of opposition; it is the proof of promotion.
Ten Facts About Transition
1. Most of life’s transitions are scheduled for you. Psalm 37:23
Isaiah 30:21, Romans 8:28
God doesn’t bring the bad things into your life, but He can use them
Genesis 50:20 (the story of Joseph) What you meant for evil, God meant for good.
2. You can birth transition in your life by deciding to reject your current level in favor or a new level.
Philippians 3:20
3. Between levels, there is always trouble. Between levels is the place called transition.
  • Matthew 14:15
  • Jesus would not have told the multitude to feed the people if they were not capable of doing so
  • V.19 Jesus “broke” he broke the limit
  • God is a limit breaking God
  • 1 Corinthians 16:9
  • If you see opposition, you should know that opportunity is around the corner.
4. Habits of the first level do not work at the next level.
  • Your habits are determining your future.
  • Matthew 3 – Repent means to return to the top. The top represents the beginning (Gen. 1:26)
5. Some people at the first level don’t work at the next level.
6. Successful transition requires your willingness to change.
7. Transition is what gets you from one level to the next (life is lived on levels and carried out in stages/seasons)
8. You were created for multiplication and movement. When God says multiply, he means to at least double.
9. If you’re going to be used by God, He will take you through a multitude of experiences that are not meant for you at all. They are meant for others so that you know what transpires in the hearts of men; so you will never be surprised at what you come up against.
10. People are in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
  • Some relationships have expiration dates on them and some will never expire.
  • You have to discern who you’re connected to and for how long.
  • Never put a comma where God put a period.
The next thing that God is bringing you into is always better than the current thing
